This catalog has the purpose of listing and classifying the first coins produced in El Salvador, between 1828 and 1835, while it was one of the States of the Federal Republic of Central America. It includes a synthesis of the history, to understand the circumstances that motivated El Salvador to stand against the Federal Republic and the reason behind the coinage of El Salvador. These emblematic coins that mark the beginning of the transformation of the Salvadoran state into an independent republic.

Very few collectors know about these types of coins and the historical legacy they contain. This book is trying to rescue them from the lack of information and study material and puts the effort on making a complete inventory of the different varieties, trying to simplify these coins by types, illustrating the differences between them, and explaining what the marks and elements found on the coins and their representation.
