Guide Book of Banknotes, Coins and Tokens of Israel, 2022-2023

The book covers the coins, banknotes and tokens of Israel from 1927 (under British Mandate) until the latest series.

The coin sections cover the British Madate of Palestine Coins (1927-1948), the Pruta Series (1948), the Agora and the Lira (1960), the new Agora and the Sheqel (1980) and the Agora and the New Sheqel (1985 and onwards).

The banknote sections cover Anglo-Palestine Company Checks (1919-1948), British Mandate (1927-1948), Emergency Banknotes (1948), Anglo-Palestine Banknotes (1948), Fractional Paper Currency Mil Series (1948), Bank Leumi Le-Israel (1952), Fractional Paper Currency Pruta Series (1952), The Landscape Series (1955), Representative Figures Series (1958), Notable Personalities Series (1969), Jerusalem Gate Series (1975), Sheqel Series (1985), New Sheqel Series A (1985), New Sheqel Series B (1999), New Sheqel Series C (2014) and the Collector Series.

The Palestine and Israel Tokens section covers Colonies Tokens, Hotel and Trade Tokens, The Holyland Tokens, Transportation Tokens, Charity and Other Tokens, and Communication Tokens.

There is also a section explaning the grading standards for Israel banknotes and coins.

The book is written in both English and Hebrew but organized according to the Hebrew convention which reads from right to left.  Thus, to follow the material chronilogically, English readers start at the back of the book and read it towards the front.
