Gold on Silver Ethiopia 10 Cent Lion Cut Coin Necklace

This stunning necklace was made using a real 10 cent coin from Ethiopia which is about the size of a US quarter and features a lion. First, a small hole was drilled in the coin. Then, a very fine jeweler's saw blade was inserted through the hole and carefully worked around the coin's design elements by hand, cutting away the background. This left the coin's figure floating inside it's outer rim. The figure was then selectively layered by hand with brilliant .9999 fine silver and rich 24-carat gold. The finished coin was then mounted on a good quality -inch, 14-carat gold layered rope chain. Shipped in a nice jewelry box.
